This animation shows a cross section of the eye, at first from the "outside" then this dissolves
to show the interior components of the eye. These are listed in the definitions given below the animation.
Tips for Students
To print any of the animations on this site you will need to do the following :
- When the animation shows what you want to print (eg. the outside view of the eye) press the PRINT SCREEN
button on your keyboard. This pastes an image showing the full contents of the screen to the clipboard.
- Go into an image editing tool like Microsoft Photo Editor or Paintshop Pro.
- Click the New Image icon to create a blank 'canvas' 800 x 600 pixels.
- Press CTRL-V to paste the clipboard contents onto the 'canvas'.
- Use the cropping function of your image editor to remove the parts of the picture that you don't need.
- Save the end result in JPG format.
- When you are in Word or any other application you will then be able to insert the picture from the directory you saved it into.
The sections under Resources for
- How to help/guide a blind person
- Tips on saving your sight
- How to care for your eyes
have been coded so that when they are printed page-breaks will occur so as not to print illustrations
across two pages - provided your browser supports this functionality (IE4.0 and above).
For printing we recommend a font size of medium or smaller.
